The inauguration of the 2023 festival was held in the stained-glass hall of the wonderfully restored Old Stock Exchange with Samuel Rohrer’s „Hungry Ghosts” solo drums & electronics. A large dose of virtuosity and spontaneity emerged during performances in the Eklektik Room format: Chris Dahlgren on viola da gamba and Imran Khan on tabla accompanied by local guests took their audiences to the next level. Final performance led by Jan Galega’s Tipping Point project was also a visual extravaganza due to Optickle, multimedia artist from Switzerland. RESET edition has been once again exploring history and searching new spaces for culture.

Combining the worlds of music, fashion and design. Ben Aylon „One Man Tribe” inspired by West African and Middle Eastern rhythms in the minimalistic, spacious architecture of the Mercedes-Benz Grupa Wróbel showroom followed by fashion show of Monika Tatiana Idzikowska latest collection. Jo Berger Myhre „Unheimlich Manoeuvre” and guitarist Nguyên Lê with Mieko Miyazaki / koto / and Prabhu Eduoard / tabla / as Saiyuki trio added splendor when the festival moved to former Eklektik Art space marking grand opening of the restored venue.

The 2021 linked with Pamoja Zanzibar Festival having taken place for the first time on the island of Zanzibar and mainland Tanzania. Only about month later, exceptionally in the summer, Eklektik Session festival in Wroclaw became a sequel of the East-African event emphasizing unity and respect. Concerts in open public spaces and eagerly awaited Jimi Tenor’s band, Pamoja orchestra with Ghana’s highlite performer Karikari and Swahili blues singer/songwriter Salum Matata added charisma to this enthusiastically received Africa focused edition.

Executed against all odds during Covid lockdown, BOXED edition welcomed legendary afrobeat ambassador Dele Sosimi. Having worked as keyboard player and musical director for Fela Anikulapo Kuti’s Egypt 80, Dele arrived in Wroclaw to work on Eklektik Afrobeat Orchestra together with Bond, drummer Ekow Alabi Savage and Polish musicians. The final performance preceded by workshops at National Forum of Music has been held in strict conditions, nevertheless you couldn’t resist dancing. Another highlight was Empathic Design exhibition, a collaboration with research team led by Dominika Sobolewska, Patrycja Mastej and Sebastian Sobótka showcasing innovative objects and inventions created by young generation of students in the spirit of empathy, addressing the needs of ourselves and our planet.

The first Pamoja Zanzibar Festival took place in July 2021 on the island of Zanzibar and mainland Tanzania. Focusing on interactions this spectacular idea of unity and diversity provided artists with an opportunity to connect and share their experience and musical cultures. Pamoja Zanzibar events give a chance to explore East-African music and rich Swahili coast culture, the result of a fusion of African, Asian and European historical influences.
